There are very many shopping malls including 24-hour services by Nakumatt Supermarkets in Meru Town. The town and other towns in the county
have various social facilities and recreational grounds. Monetary institutions (banks) available in Meru Town and other towns and major trading
centres, petrol stations, police stations and posts, learning institutions and medical facilities. Various curio shops are available in Meru and other trading
centres and along the roads where one could buy artifacts and jewellery during the tour around Meru County.
Meru has a good road network, making it very accessible from all major towns within central Kenya. Meru is accessible via the Nairobi-Embu-Meru road,
or via Nairobi-Nanyuki-Meru road. Light aircrafts can also use the Meru airstrip. Meru town is about 65 kilometres from Isiolo town; which will see
the town start relying on the airport and and railway line at Isiolo once the construction is complete. Public transport is available, various tour operators
also access the region.
