There are very many shopping malls including 24-hour services by Nakumatt Supermarkets. Nanyuki Town also has an airstrip and an army air base,
social facilities and recreational grounds. Monetary institutions (banks) available in Nanyuki town, Nyahururu town and other major towns and trading
centres in the county, police stations and posts, petrol stations, learning institutions and medical facilities also available. The county has very
many curio shops across the county and along major roads in the county which sell artifacts and jewellery.
- Inland Beaches and Fishing
Fish is mainly reared by private institutions and farms for domestic consumption and marketing.
Laikipia County has a good road network, making it very accessible from all the main towns in Central Kenya. Nanyuki is also connected by
a railway line which stretches across the rift valley towards the western region of Kenya. There is the Nanyuki Air Base (military base) and
airstrip which eases the transportation of tourists around the mount Kenya region.
